Arya is a 6 year old, female, 50-60lb, reddish brown coat, Staffordshire Terrier Mix.
This beautiful girl came to us from Saltspring Island a month ago. She is a very relaxed and sweet girl that loves to snuggle, cuddle, play with her toys, go for walks, nap, go for walks and light hikes, and say hello to all the nice people she meets. She is house trained, is pretty good on leash, and is getting better at not lightly jumping up when excited and saying hello. Arya was unfortunately attacked by another female dog a while ago when in her previous home and it did leave her with some nervousness when meeting other dogs. She has never tried to hurt another dog that we have seen, she has even been on walks with another male dog and been fine, she just more so avoids the dogs being in her space. She won’t react to dogs from a far or across the road, she only gets nervous when they’re directly in her bubble, and even then it’s only been a low growl, never a bark, lunge or bite. She was so bonded with another male dog in her previous home before coming to us, very bonded. We believe Arya might be best as the only dog in the home to start, but she can bond to other dogs and male friends if they go slow. We don’t think she should be with cats or other small animals at this time. Kids she has been around and been kind to the ones she has met, only one kid she has met has made her a bit uncomfortable it seemed, but no negative reaction. This absolutely beautiful girl is still patiently awaiting her forever home.
